James Gosling
Computer scientist from Canada
The father of Java.
Also known as Dr. Java.
Obtained his bachelor's degree from the University of Calgary and his master's and doctorate from Carnegie Mellon.
After graduating from university, he joined Sun Microsystems and apparently worked there for about 26 years.
From 2006 to 2010, he served as the vice president and CTO of Sun Microsystems.
After Sun Microsystems was acquired by Oracle, he retired, but he seems to have been very critical of Oracle.
He then joined Google, but left after just six months for another company.
He went through several companies before joining AWS.
